Automotive Collision Repair Apprenticeship

The Automotive Collision Repair apprenticeship leads to the credential of Collision Repair Technician. Apprentices are required to successfully complete three levels of technical training during this four year apprenticeship program.

Level 1 Collision Repair (5 weeks)

  • Tools and Equipment
  • Oxy/Acetylene Weldling
  • MIG Welding
  • Sheet Metal Repair
  • Plastics and Composites
  • Surface Preparation
  • Auto Body Construction and Components

Level 2 Collision Repair (5 weeks)

  • Mig Welding
  • Sheet Metal Repair
  • Plastics and Composites
  • Mechanical Components

Level 3 Collision Repair (6 weeks)

  • Structural Repair
  • Suspension and Steering
  • Insurance and Industry Liaison
The Collision Repair apprentice will write the Interprovincial (Red Seal) Examination on the last day of level 3 technical training. Successful completion grants the apprentice the Certificate of Qualification in Automotive Collision Repair along with the Canadian Interprovincial Endorsement. The Interprovinical Endorsement is recognized across Canada.
